Alexandra Hawkins – Lords of Vice #2 – ‘Till dawn with the devil

7713873What happens, when you fall in love with the son of the man, who murdered your parents and tried to kill you too when you was young? You have fun and lots of sexy, romantic time. That’s waht happens….

Blurb:
Few women can resist a man like Gabriel “Reign” Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt. With divine good looks, delectable charms, and delicious wealth, he would seem to be every marriage-minded mother’s dream match for their daughters. But not so, given the mysterious death of his first wife. Fortunately for Gabriel, he has no plans to seriously court any of the London ladies ever again. That is, until he shares one unforgettable dance with a mysterious stranger…

Exquisitely beautiful though decidedly modest, Lady Sophia usually shuns the festive ballrooms of London society. But when a man who calls himself “Reign” enters her life—seemingly from out of nowhere—and shows her true kindness, her wary young heart begins to melt. Of course, Sophia would be shocked to learn the truth about Reign’s past. But when scandal strikes, this devilish stranger may be her only salvation…

So. If the first book was perverted and violent, this book is all about the sugarcoated love and romance. Our hero is the one and only Gabriel “Reign” Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt. Although the man seems to be a grumpy jerk, under the delicious, sexy facade he is a giant teddy bear. Yes, he is charming, gentle and romantic. But not to everyone…

You see, Gabriel was once married, but there was no happy ending. Everyone fears him and thinks he is the madman and murderer his father was. Gabriel’s heart is broken to pieces, he vows never to marry again. But don’t say never ever…

Our heroine is the lovely vixen, Lady Sophia. She is gentle, innocent and beautiful, so everything that makes her unsuitable for Gabriel. But our hero steps up to this lady’s defense, they dance and maybe – just maybe – our lord steals a kiss under the moonlight. Sophia’s family is imperfect too, her parents were killed – by none other than Gabriel’s mad father – and the young Sophia was attacked too. The girl is half blind, therefore a hinder to her siblings. Her brother, Stephen has so much debt, the man sells out his sister too. Tell me about two birds with one stone… But Sophia and Gabriel has a friendship and affection so strong, the lord comes for her rescue again.

I’m not saying anything else. This book was so exciting, romantic and awesome, you just have to read it. I have to adapt to Mrs Hawkins’ style though. She writes so much twist and turn, puts in a little thriller part too. This book has secrets, murders, love and excitement all in one delicious bundle. I have to say though, my favorite part was on the end, when Frost – the slimy, meddling bastard – gets a little justice from karma. Our Sophia invites Gabriel’s friends to dinner, hoping they will accept her. But when they serve the fish our gal gets sick and tries to duck out of the room. Frost tries to stop her smirking, then Sophia simply pukes in his lap. I have to say that this was the best part of the story. I literally screamed. Don’t worry, Sophia. I also feel queasy when I see the jerk. 😉
